Description:
Went to see Curse of the Golden Flower this evening at the Uptown Cinema. Actually we went at 4:30. There were four people, counting ourselves, in the theatre.

Curse of the Golden Flower had great costumes and a huge specially built palace. Visually it was really impressive. The film itself though, I thought was rather flat. Gong Li's performance seemed lackluster. Chow Yun Fat seemed like he'd rather be doing something else.

Having said that, the film moves quickly. I never felt bored. I never felt let down by the plot. I just always felt like something was missing.
