I don't know why, but I got on the freeway into heavy rush hour traffic, only to see in the median, a leather jacket biker guy who got into some kind of collision with a car or two, and was knocked off. He was bleeding all over the asphalt. the traffic plodded forward, as rubberneckers like me stared at the man, and the people who were fretting around him, having their freakouts. the guy wasn't doing so well, and hadn't been wearing his leathers, and his body was cut up. the traffic parted to let a fire truck drive in reverse down the freeway to rescue the man. I drove forward, like everyone else, and as the thick traffic loosened up, sped away from the scene, trying to forget, telling myself that this dude was going to be okay.
