SPOT-Taipei Film House, Operate by Taiwan Film and Culture Society, is officially opened on November 10th, 2002. " SPOT-Taipei Film House" is formerly the residency of the U.S. Anmbassador, now a historical landmark after the restoration sponsored by the TSMC Education & Culture Foundation. SPOT is now managed by the internationally acclaimed director Hou Hsiao-hsien and his staff, aimed to establish a film oriented complex, to serve as an interactive window of cross-culture exchange for the creative industry.
Spot not only provides the finest movie with more culture diversity, but also creates a channel for filmmakers and the movie lover to exchange ideas, and to generate various possible thinking through the conference and the workshop.
A multi-functional building was composed: Spot Cinema- screening the fine-selected movies from all over the world, Eslite Bookstore, C25 Coffee Shop, the exhibition gallery, the multi-media conference room, and the SixthAvenue- the finest winery lounge.
