November 20, 1933 -- W. Frank Akin, independent auditor working for Governor Meier, shot to death. This is one of Portland's great mysteries and most historians say that it was never solved. One man was convicted of murder in this case and the person who pulled the trigger was probably executed for another crime. Soon I will tell this forgotten story.
