Ancestral home of my ggg grandfather, August Heitschmidt Sr. He was born there in 1836. He married Julia Zieman (unknown if it was in Germany or the US) and settled in Chicago, IL. His son A.C. Heitschmidt was a prominant citizen of Michigan City, IN for many years in the early 20th century.
