World-class botanical gardens includes cactus garden, Australian garden, Japanese garden, roses, herbs, Shakespeare garden and much more. Chinese garden coming soon! The tearoom (reservations recommended) is wonderful, though not as charming as it was before Sodexho took it over. (My advice: Dim the lights! Put some music on!) Great art collection, library (for scholars) and gift shop. A wonderful way to spend a relaxing day. Visiting this convinced me that Southern California was actually a pretty place the first time I saw it over 20 years ago. Don't miss the new Children's Garden, even if you don't have kids. It's full of whimsical plants and water creations.
