I was on a plane from Heathrow to Shannon in Ireland at the time. When we touched down in Shannon it was very quiet everywhere (its a small airport anyhow!) but i thought it especially quiet. Didnt hear about the tragic news until i got into my hire car and turned on the radio. thought it was an orson wells type radio-play (irish radio is quite cultured, plays are common) until the full case of the event was revealed.
