Description:
The Musee Mecanique is frozen in time. One of the world's largest privately owned collections of mechanically operated musical instruments and antique arcade machines. I wonder what keeps Edward Galland Zelinsky (curator + collector) going?
There seem to be a million player pianos simultaneously banging out ragtime piano melodies, small vignettes are acted out by cardboard puppet actors in the penny arcade machines, handcrank silent movies, a fat woman who laughs horribly for a nickel and the foreboding gypsy tarot reader that will tell your fortune by dropping you a little printed note. It might seem haunted in a good way, by whatever it is that animates the many machines and keeps them imbued with the spirit of the past.
A good place to go on a rainy day, especially on a date.
