Description:
Though Gazette columnist T'cha Dunlevy's new bar Boa, located right across the street, is quickly capturing the hearts and minds of the over 30 year old set, the Green Room has firmly established itself as the weekday watering hole and weekend booze-palace for Mile End youngsters and their adoring fans. Thankfully not the exclusive Anglophone haunt it once used to be, it's a weekend hotspot for even the off-Plateau types.
With a cast of DJs including Thomas Sontag (yep, lil' bro of Tiga (forever resentful?), Andrew Rose (host of the Pop Montreal Popcast and Myspace Prophet), the incomparable John Lee, Ivory Temple (that's myself and Guillaume Decouflet, yep) Marie-Helene, Insomniak, and members of the Kidnapper Films crew, the music runs the gamut from your standard car-commercial indie fare to kraut rock to electro to hip-hop to Guillaume's patented baile-funk mixdowns. Get your leg up.
Occasionally hosting live bands who're not yet recognized enough to draw in the bigger room upstairs (The Diableros played a lil' while back, one assumes the next time it'll be a bigger venue), all of that's taken care of by the lovely folks at Greenland Productions.
