Description:
I love politics and live within 45 minutes of Washington, D.C. So what was I doing in Ben Yehuda Square during Barack Obama's historic presidential inauguration? Lamenting the fact that I had purchased my tickets to Israel back in October, 2008. Back then, it was unclear who would win the election. On Inauguration Day 2009, I was millions of miles away (or so it seemed) on the other side of the world, watching everything unfold from a satellite feed 7-hours later. Pretty cool.
Ben Yehuda Square is a great place to hang out. There are shops, street musicians, cafes, and loads of Israeli culture. On the day of the inauguration, a camera crew from Germany was filming people's thoughts and hopes for Obama's presidency. I volunteered to be filmed.
