Three men found shot to death in 7th Ward house

Three men were found shot to death at about 1 p.m. today inside a house in the 2500 block of Pauger Street.

New Orleans Police Superintendent Warren Riley was at the triple murder scene and was briefed by patrol officers.

Riley said that three people, all apparently men, were found shot inside the home. One of the victims was dressed in women's attire, he said.

Riley noted that the investigation is in the preliminary stages and that it would take time for crime scene technicians to process the area. The shotgun double home sits in the middle of the block.

It is unclear when the shooting took place. A maintenance man doing repairs on one half of the coffee-colored house said he peered into the home and saw a man's body sprawled on the floor and called 911.

The police arrived minutes later and began the homicide investigation.
