Description:
New Orleans police found the bodies of two men early Sunday inside of a vehicle in the Gentilly area, police spokesman Garry Flot said.
The men had been shot to death, police said.
The New Orleans coroner's office was not able to positively establish the identities of the men as of Sunday night, said John Gagliano, the coroner's chief investigator. One has been described as a 24-year-old local man, Flot said.
Police responding to a call shortly after midnight found the two men, who were pronounced dead on the scene, Flot said.
Detectives determined that the incident originated at Hamburg and Lafreniere streets when two men approached the victims and began firing weapons, Flot said.
The victims' vehicle came to a stop eight blocks away at Mandolin and Hamburg streets, where police were called. The two gunmen fled the scene, he said.
