ATF & FBI engaged in a 51 day standoff with the members of the 7th Day Adventist splinter faction called the Brand Davidians. There are numerous opinions and views about what happened here in 1993 (the standoff ended after the compound burnded to the ground with dozens of church members inside, inlcuding many women and children). There is a new Branch Davidian church built on the site of the tragic episode, but even that church and the new leadership of the organization are under constant fire from believers and skeptics.
