Description:
Giant hill in the middle of Santiago Chile. When I was there I rode the funicular up to the top and the big statue of the Virgin Mary and then hiked down. The next day I hiked up and rode a cable car down! A great way to see the city, the Andes and the amazing amount of pollution there... Also on the hill is a public swimming pool, zoo, and botanical garden. Very near is the neighborhood (bario) of Bella Vista. A great area to shop cheap in. You MUST eat at the restaurant Galindo if there. Order the Lomo alo Pobre and the most expensive glass of red wine on the menu. With tip you'll pay about $10 to have the best steak and red wine of your life.
