This was my third marathon and...uh... well, I didn't do so hot. I've learned that you can't just put in a few miles here and there and try to run a successful marathon. Real training must be done. The muscles just above my knees started to lock up around mile 20... that wasn't fun because it made me not able to bend my legs. All in all, though, I love running marathons. The finish is always worth it.
