Description:
Not all maps show it, but there is a canal here connecting the Bras d'Or Lakes, Cape Breton's Inland Sea, to the Atlantic Ocean at St. Peter's. You can paddle in either direction, and possibly access Isle Madame, the Bras d'Or Lakes, or the National Historic Site of Chapel Island from here. It's a nice seaside town, with a beautiful Inn and services for travellers.
