Gabarus Bay is a a great place to paddle whether you are just starting to kayak or you are an adventure-seeker. Inside the bay you are sheltered from the predominant southwesterly winds in the summer and have your choice of landing on a multitude of sandy beaches in a Protected Wilderness Area. Outide of the bay lie rocks and shoals to thrill the most experienced paddlers.
Wildlife sightings abound, from migrating whales, porpoises and seabirds to resident seals, seabirds and eagles. You can visit the remains of an abandoned fishing village, walking among the old stone foundations.
