Description:
When 9/11 happened, it was an ordinary day for me at school. At the time, I had just started grade 8 at Module Vanier, a French immersion middle school. I did not hear about the terrorist attacks until lunch. One of my teachers, Ann Botros, told me about the attacks, and I thought she was joking at first. I remember that I was standing right in front of the vending machines in the cafeteria at the time. After lunch, there was an announcement about the attacks on the PA system, like there would have been when Kennedy was assassinated, and we discussed the day's events in class. That was five years ago; I can't believe that I am now in first year at the University of Toronto.
