Blue Coral is a new high-end restaurant in Newport Beach, opened by the same folks who own Roy's and Fleming's. It's a seafood restaurant with an lobster cobb salad, Maine lobster en fuego (baked lobster with chile-spiked mayonnaise) and the fish stew, cioppino. You can get halibut poached in shrimp and vegetable broth, salmon grilled with roasted pepper, sea bass in parchment with thyme, lemon and tomato broth and sole battered and sauteed with chive butter and toasted almonds. Everything is served a-la-carte. Side dishes include lobster mac 'n' cheese, mashed potatoes and fuji apple and blue cheese cole slaw.

I came here for a recent birthday of mine and really dig the electric-blue wall, where you have a choice of 72 vodkas in stocked.
