Here are pics of the original horse and her replacement. The first one confirmed what I had suspected - if the horses aren't glued to the curb and the tie is too long, they fall off the curb onto the street and get run over. So from now on, I'm keep the wire ties as short sa I can and gluing their hooves with Goop - I think they'll last much much longer because I think the "horse thieves" are only a minor cause of missing horses.
