Description:
A plein air painting of Bages, a mediaeval hill-top village on the Golfe du Lion coast in winter, looking across the salt-water etang, home to hundreds of flamingoes, sea-eagles - and once, an egyptian vulture. The village is pretty : fishing punts and skeins of nets, steep cobbled lanes leading up to an attractive little square at the top. It is something of an artist's colony - with two galleries and several good restaurants.
