In addition to viewing the Gallery's collection in New Haven, you can see the much-praised exhibition The Société Anonyme: Modernism for America at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., through January 21. Its premiere at the Hammer Museum at UCLA, along with an accompanying Web site, http://artgallery.yale.edu/socanon, has helped raise greater awareness and curiosity about the Galleryâs major holdings of modern and contemporary art. Master Drawings from the Yale University Art Gallery, which is on view at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida, through January 7, draws attention to our growing holdings of fifteenth- to nineteenth-century works on paper. Both of these touring exhibitions debuted at other university museums to share and amplify the Galleryâs central mission as a teaching museum.
