Dina Brodsky’s captivating solo show “In a Different Light” flirts with perceptions and reactions to every day objects. Her series of 16 paintings is "a curio cabinet of life," explains Brodsky. While the artist's oil paintings respectfully embrace 17th Century Dutch Master techniques, it is her youthful, contemporary vision that gives her paintings the right of passage into the 21st Century. Brodsky has chosen objects that she believes transcend
their own existence into the profound. "In a Different Light" gives composition to human sentiments by reexamining the beauty of the commonplace.

Inspired by art faculty members, the gallery originally was situated in the old single-carriage house on campus. Through the generosity of Class of 1964 alumna Christine Hess Williams and her father, Leon, it moved in 1971 to its present home on the first floor of the Annenberg Library building. Over the years many faculty members have directed the gallery, which is currently being run by Assistant Professor of Visual Arts Carole Rabe, with the able assistance of Christine Wirth, Gallery Coordinator.

understand the difference, and which one is right
for you at this moment.
The class lasts 45 minutes--bring loose, comfortable
clothes, an open mind, and a huge desire to learn!
You can take the class barefoot, or with socks on.

Today, Edward owns and operates East Ocean Enterprises, Limited and five specialized restaurants: the East Ocean City Seafood Restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown (since 1991), Fugakyu Japanese Cuisine in Brookline (since 1998), Fugakyu Japanese Café in Sudbury (since 2000), Kaze Shabu Shabu Restaurant in Chinatown (since 2005) and Imperial Seafood Dim Sum Restaurant in Chinatown (since 2005).
The restaurants are continually expanded and modified so that each maintains a unique style of its own. Fugakyu Japanese Cuisine in Brookline was enlarged in January, 2005; in November, 2005, Fugakyu Japanese Café in Sudbury was also expanded; and in November of 2005, Edward took over the management and renovation/expansion of Imperial Seafood Dim Sum Restaur

Extensive renovations by local laborers and contractors, following architect Ernest Hayward's designs transformed the church into a modern movie theatre and ushered in what the Brookline Chronicle described as "a real chapter in the life of the town."
On December 30, 1933, Brookline's first movie theatre opened with a gala ceremony including speeches by local politicians and businessmen, the distribution of souvenirs, and a showing of Only Yesterday, Saturday's Millions, a Disney short, and "a series of local pictures taken especially for the occasion."
